O Lord, I Have Trusted in Thee

1) Nephi prayed a mighty prayer
Like all of us could.
He told the Lord that he felt
He wasn’t always good.
He laid out what his struggles were
And asked for Father’s grace
To help him change the way he felt
And live each day with faith.
He said, “O Lord, I have trusted in thee
And I will trust in thee forever.
O Lord, I have trusted in thee
And I will trust in thee forever.”
2) Nephi started listing
Many of the ways his life was blessed.
He saw how Heav’nly Father
Always answered each request.
His anguish turned to happiness,
His doubt & fears were gone.
He called down blessings from the Lord
Believing they would come!
He said, “O Lord, I have trusted in thee
And I will trust in thee forever.
O Lord, I have trusted in thee
And I will trust in thee forever.”
3) I can pray like Nephi did
When I am feeling sad,
And share with God the hopes & dreams
That make my heart feel glad.
I’ll thank Him for my blessings
As I seek to do what’s right
And know that, though I stumble,
Jesus helps with all His might!
I say, “O Lord, I have trusted in thee
And I will trust in thee forever.
O Lord, I have trusted in thee
And I will trust in thee forever.
Yes, I will trust in Thee forever.”
